Awakening, a memory floats around me
Like the whispering wind
That pushes through trees

It lingers on my lips
As morning sunlight touches my face
The dream so distant and unreal now
Different than what it was in sleep
I thought the yearning was gone
Forgotten desires that tormented my soul
But for two years in the shadows of my heart
You remained
Banished from my thoughts
But returned
When I'm not even looking anymore

Tendrils of memory
Stroke the stone of my heart
Like waves of the ocean
Perpetual in their conquest
Memory disguised as a dream
Waiting in the dark patiently
For sleep to come again

Will forever haunt you
Behind closed eyes
Like yours do mine
Seeing without sight
